The most famous beach on Praslin is that of Anse Lazio, renowned for its soft white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters, considered by many as the best beach of the Seychelles. The breathtakingly beautiful beach is framed by granite boulders and truly is a tropical paradise. The beach is protected by a coral reef, meaning that the waters are usually calm, making it a fantastic place for both swimming and snorkelling. Visitors often report of seeing giant tortoises in the vicinity of Anse Lazio. Two restaurants, Bonbon Plume and Le Chevalier lie close to the beach set back amongst the trees, providing lunch and refreshments.
Some of our stays in Praslin include free transfers to and from Anse Lazio. For those who sail, Anse Lazio is a wonderful anchorage where overnight and in the ealry morning you might be the only visitor.
Praslin presents some interesting coral reef diving and underwater scenery punctuated by granite boulders. The longer range dive site of Marianne Island is a worthwhile trip. We can often see accumulations here of grey reef sharks, rays, Napoleon wrasse and turtles, whilst enjoying some impressive underwater coral structures.
