20 years ago, miners went into the mountain looking for black gold! On this trip you will hear stories and learn what life was like for the miners and how the community has changed over the years. You will be driven to Coal Mine Number 3 and don your suit, helmet and headlamp before venturing into the mine! Inside you will learn more about the coal mine production and listen to the sounds from deep within the mountain as you walk into the pitch-darkness of the mine.



You will need to wear warm clothes on this tour as the mine is not heated. You will be provided with a worker’s overall to protect your clothes. All participants wear warm boots, woollen clothing and a hat and mittens.
