This recently renovated hotel is located in Haugen, high on a hill overlooking the town of Longyearbyen, the Lars glacier and the Longyear glacier. Originally built in 1947 as accommodation and a dining area for administrative workers at Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani, the building was the company's official representational building, its interior and architecture making it Longyearbyen's grandest construction.

Facilities at the hotel include a gym, sauna, library, cosy lounge and bar. The Funktionærmessen Restaurant serves either a 4 or 7 course menu or a Signature menu using a social dining concept, where generous portions are served that can be shared at your table. The wine list offers over 300 choices including French vintages and over 70 types of champagne. As well as all this, the restaurant offers some of the best views across the town, the Longyear glacier and the striking peak of Hiorthfjellet on the far side of Adventfjord. Please note that it takes approximately 20 minutes to walk downhill to the town centre from the hotel.
