Kayaking the Rivers, Lakes & Fjords of Iceland

With a wealth of meandering rivers, expansive lakes, deep fjords and sheltered bays, Iceland presents some wonderful kayaking opportunities.  The sheer diversity of kayaking experiences that can be sought within Iceland is sure to be unlike any other places in the world.  The intense geological activeness of Iceland presents wondrous volcanic landscapes, rugged cliff formations and countless meandering flows of glacial waters.  Kayaking through the majestic landscapes of this fascinating country is a truly unique experience, enabling you to immerse yourself in complete peace and tranquillity.  It is also a fantastic way in which to gain a deeper insight into Iceland's natural environment and the wildlife and marine life that inhabits it, including a range of bird species and seals.

The majority of the kayaking trips we offer within Iceland require no previous knowledge or experience of the sport, since our experienced guides are happy to provide all necessary advice and training before and during the trips.  Whether you have just a day or two to spare or are keen to embark on a weeklong kayaking expedition, we have a varied selection of trips to suit all ages, abilities and time frames.  We also have some combination options for those who would like to vary their Icelandic exploration with other activities, including hiking to hot springs, snorkelling, whale watching, caving and horse riding.

Our selection of kayaking day trips allows beginners to get a taste of the vast Icelandic wilderness from a different perspective from the safety of a sturdy kayak.  From navigating in the calm waters around Ísafjörðurin the Westfjords, to paddling around the surrounds of Iceland's capital city Reykjavik, kayaking will enable one to marvel at the magnificence of Iceland's serene and beautiful fjords.

Our longer kayaking expeditions are between 4 and 6 days and are the ideal way to explore the extraordinary Icelandic wilderness in all its glory, including its innumerable waterfalls, geothermal springs, mountains, glaciers and beaches as well as many other relatively unvisited locations.  Our Kayaking & Hiking Island Hopping Adventure in Breiðarfjörður Bay is ideal for intermediate to advanced kayakers, combining opportunities to delve into the rich Icelandic sea faring heritage with glaciers, islands black sand beaches and volcanoes.  These longer kayaking expeditions provide a true Icelandic wilderness experience where by day kayakers will paddle through some of Iceland's most breathtaking landscapes and by night camp under the stars beside peaceful and picturesque bays.
